This safeguarding policy applies to:
• Children and young people under the age of 18
• Vulnerable adults
• Individuals accessing recovery-focused or community wellbeing sessions
• All participants attending MBH Well-Being sessions, programmes, or events

OUR APPROACH
As a fitness and wellbeing organisation, MBH Well-Being takes a proactive and preventative approach to safeguarding.
We aim to do this by:
• Creating judgement-free, inclusive spaces
• Encouraging open and respectful communication
• Recognising that mental health, addiction, stress, or life circumstances may increase vulnerability
• Ensuring staff and coaches understand their safeguarding responsibilities
• Maintaining appropriate boundaries between staff and participants
MBH Well-Being is not a crisis or clinical mental health service. We encourage individuals requiring urgent or specialist support to seek appropriate professional help.

RECOGNISING SAFEGUARDING CONCERNS
Safeguarding concerns may include, but are not limited to:
• Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse
• Neglect or exploitation
• Self-harm or expressions of suicidal thoughts
• Substance misuse-related risk
• Significant changes in behaviour, mood, or wellbeing
• Situations where an individual may be at risk of harm
All safeguarding concerns are taken seriously.

REPORTING A SAFEGUARDING CONCERN
If a safeguarding concern arises during any MBH Well-Being activity:
• The concern should be reported as soon as possible
• Immediate risk should be escalated to emergency services
• Concerns will be handled sensitively and confidentially
• Where appropriate, concerns may be referred to relevant safeguarding services or partner organisations

CONFIDENTIALITY AND INFORMATION SHARING
